World history: The exhibition “The First World War: War and Peace” in Yekaterinburg

The Museum of Photography "Metenkov House" (Yekaterinburg) in cooperation with the State Archives of the Sverdlovsk region from February 6, 2014 presents the exhibition "The First World War: War and Peace".

The exhibition is based on 8 pictures of the Siberian Rifle Regiment from the State Archives of the Sverdlovsk region. The viewer will see them for the first time. Pictures of the regimental photographer differ from regular work of photographers newspapers, for him did not exist many taboos and prohibitions and not always technically perfect pictures brought us "the truth trench war".

The exhibition presents the original posters, charity postcards, stamps and tokens of the times of the First World War, pictures of those years

The exhibition presents different images of war, ugly sides and noble manifestations of the human spirit.
