Internet and science: Single paleontological portal launched

A single paleontological portal that combines all the world's electronic databases of mammoths was launched in test mode by specialists of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). "There are no such projects in Russia. The portal was created by the proceeds of foreign exposures of mammoth Yuki", - said the head of the department for the study of mammoths of the Academy Albert Protopopov.

The idea of ​​creating the portal belongs to the specialists of the Yakutia Academy of Sciences, and electronic platform was started to develop last autumn.

According to Albert Protopopov the portal will make a huge contribution to the further development of research of mammoths. The official presentation of the project will be held in March in Yakutsk. In May, at the international conference in Greece the portal will be presented to the world scientific community.

"This is a systematic database for common use in academic circles. The portal will become a useful tool for research scholars from around the world - said Protopopov. - At an international conference, we offer several options for copyright protection of scientists who will place on the portal their scientific work".

According to the conference, the charter of participants will be signed, where all the conditions of cooperation in the information field will be discussed.
