Society and church: The Museum of History of Orthodoxy to be open in Krasnodar

The Museum of History of Orthodoxy will be open in Kuban in Krasnodar in June this year under the Yekaterinodar Theological Seminary.

"The project is an All-Kuban. It combines all the dioceses of the Kuban archdiocese in an effort to captivate residents of the province and the study of the spiritual history of travel to the holy places. In this regard, the museum place an important role in the development of pilgrimage tourism in the region", - said the press service of the local archdiocese.

The work of the organizing committee for the preparation of the exposition was led by Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidor, to who belongs the idea of creating a museum. The project is supported by the regional administration.

The allocated from the regional budget subsidy was purchased equipment for the museum rooms. The first exhibits there became Episcopal vestments of the XIX century, Patriarch Pimen and stole ancient pectoral cross, donated by Metropolitan Isidor.

One of important aspect of working with museum visitors will be interactive lectures about the unique holy places of Kuban. It is also planned that as guides will act seminary students themselves.
