
Information technology and museums: The I Internet festival of the museum multimedia “Museum boom”
In 2014, the State Museum of the History of Religion conducts the I Internet festival of museum and multimedia "Museum boom". The festival was created to support innovative museum of computer and multimedia development; it is intended to update the theme of new professional competences of the museum community.
The contest welcomes programs designed for virtual, exposition-exhibition, cultural, educational or social-oriented museum projects. The organizers provided several nominations: digital collections, programs for people with special needs, exposition and exhibition multimedia, educational programs, museum advertising and PR.
The contest programs of participants are placed on a special page http://gmir.ru/special/gik/gik5 of the State Museum of the History of Religion. Anyone can see the projects and even take a direct part in choosing the winner of the festival - April 18 online audience voting starts. Participant with the highest number of votes will receive the Grand Prix of the festival. Winners in each category will be chosen by the jury, chaired by the Director of the State Hermitage, the president of the Union of Museums of Russia Michael Piotrowski.
22-23 October 2014 at the State Museum of the History of Religion will be held the final conference "Multimedia in the museum: challenges, problems, implementation".
At the moment, the website is already posted several papers. For example, Vologda presented two projects. One of them is an improved version of a virtual tour of the ensembleof the Cyril-Belozersky monastery, and the other - a virtual tour of "Citizens of Vologda in the history of Russian America" of the Vologda State Museum-Reserve.
