History and culture: The historic ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent to be recreated

President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev together with the Belarusian authorities to develop a set of measures to rebuild the historic appearance of the Novodevichy Convent.

President instructed to approve the draft zones of protection of cultural heritage of federal importance "Ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent" in accordance with procedures agreed with UNESCO in 2004 documents on the subject, and also to provide a set of measures to rebuild the historic appearance of the ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent, containing mechanisms for its implementation, also considering the possibility of subsidies to the charitable fund of the Moscow diocese ROC to restore the monastery.
