On the 80th Anniversary of Yuri Gagarin: “Stardom Glow of Orenburzhie” Exhibition in Orenburg

“Stardom Glow of Orenburzhie” exhibition was opened in Orenburg Governor's Museum on March 7, 2014. It is dedicated to the celebrated on March 9 80th anniversary of first cosmonaut in the World Yuri Gagarin.

Among displayed are the photos from the cadet’s life of future astronaut, his meeting with the residents of Orenburg in 1961, 1962, 1965 and 1967, as well as personal belongings of Yuri Alekseevich.

Besides, the exhibition visitors can watch a documentary about the first manned flight into space.

A life of the legendary astronaut, who has committed 108-minute flight around the Earth, was closely connected with the Orenburg Krai. In the fifties of the last century is in Orenburg Chkalov Military Aviation School a student Gagarin was trained, mastering airmanship, earning his first cadet and then the officer's shoulder straps.
