Memorable dates of Russia: President of Russia signed a Decree on the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of I. S. Turgenev

March 5, 2014 President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a Decree on the celebration of the 200^th anniversary of the birth of I. S. Turgenev.

The President instructed the Government of Russia to prepare for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Turgenev in 2018 and form an organizing committee for the preparation and celebration of the anniversary of the writer, ensuring the development and approval of the plan of major events.

The President also recommended Russian regions to participate in the preparation and the holding of activities commemorating the 200th anniversary of the writer.
