Exhibitions: Postcards, dedicated to the women of Russia, presented in Chelyabinsk

On the eve of March 8 in the Museum of Postal Services of the Chelyabinsk region opens the exhibition, dedicated to the women of Russia.

From postcards and greeting cards the fair sex, glorified the country, watch visitors. A particular interest presents a set of postcards “Women-Heroes of the Soviet Union”.

As you know, for the first time the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union was given to women on November 2, 1938. These were famous pilot Valentina Tereshkova, Polina Osipenko and Marina Raskova. Brave women were awarded for a nonstop flight from Moscow to the Far East on a twin-engine plane “Homeland”, which they made on September 24, 1938.

After them another 95 women have been awarded this honorary title. Perhaps the most famous of the heroines is the first woman cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova. The space flight she made on June 16-19, 1963 as commander of the spaceship "Vostok-6". A portrait of the legendary "The Seagull" was depicted on stamps in dozens of countries. Visitors of the exhibition can see the portrait of Valentina Tereshkova on a post card.

The festive exhibition also features postcards, dedicated to the great poet Marina Tsvetaeva and Anna Akhmatova. Here you can see the legendary actresses Marina Ladynina, Vera Maretskaya, famous singers Lyudmila Zykina and Edita Piekha.
