Russian culture abroad: The Germanic action “Russian book as a gift” sums up fist results

In April Rossotrudnichestvo representation office in Germany summed up the results of the first all-German project "Russian book as a gift. Russian Library" for 2014.

During the first quarter of this year it was passed 7425 pieces of literature to 33 German partner organizations. By the number of donated literature it is exceeded the annual rate in 2013.

This project was initiated and implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo representation office within the federal target program "Russian Language (2011-2015)". German Russian studies centers, libraries, schools and institutions of additional education get the aimed to the Agency in Germany Russian educational methods, including dictionaries and reference books on Old-Russian as a foreign language.

The purpose of the project – is to make available new items of Russian publishing companies in Germany, to increase interest in the Russian language, to facilitate the preparation of highly qualified specialists in humanitarian, technical and natural areas with knowledge of the Russian language, Slavic and teachers, form or refill German library literature in the Russian language.

Currently partners of the action are more than 80 educational institutions of Germany. The number of nominations for the action is constantly growing. Until 2014 RDNK plans to include in the action about 20 new partners.
