Memory of Russia: The exhibition “Near light from afar” to the 700th anniversary of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Vladimir

April 25, 2014 in the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve is opening the exhibition "Near light from afar" dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the birth of Russian land abbot – St. Sergius of Radonezh.

The objective of the exhibition – is to present by museum means one of the most revered saints in Russia, St. Sergius of Radonezh, his spiritual struggles and their significance for the history of Russia.

The exhibition features about 100 exhibits of the XVI-XXI centuries from the collections of the State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum. These are icons, plastic arts, decorative arts, printed books, lacquer miniature. Most of the items are on display for the first time.

The exhibition runs from April 25 to June 22, 2014.
