History and culture: “Witnesses of History” exhibition in Novgorod

In 2014, the Museum of Art of Novgorod Land launched a new exhibition project "Studying the collection." During the year, within the project the museum presents exhibitions on different themes, where visitors can get acquainted with the objects of various museum collections.

The project continues with the exhibition "Witnesses of History", which opened on 17 April 2014.

The showcases of the exhibition halls of the museum feature posters, brochures, catalogs and other publications from the museum’s collections, created by the museum during the preparation of each exhibition, whether personal exhibitions, memorial exhibitions, group exhibitions and exhibition projects. And these documents are the witnesses of the museum's history, witnesses of the creative work of artists.

In 2013, there has been realized the exhibition project "What the homeland starts with..." to arrange exchange of exhibitions between museums of Novgorod and Pskov regions, and the project "Artists have wings" for which it was developed and released prints (postcards, booklets, a series of European leaflets "Studying the collection"), which are present at the exhibition and allow to acquaint visitors with the work of many Novgorod artists whose creative endeavors are supported and implemented by the museum.
