Society and reading: XI International Book Forum “Russian West” in Pskov

XI International Book Forum "Russian West" is taking place 15-17 April 2014, in Pskov.

This is one of the most important cultural events for the Pskov region in the promotion and popularization of books and reading, the development of partnerships with publishers, libraries, public organizations of the Northwest, near and far abroad, strengthening relations between government, business and cultural institutions.

Organizers of the forum are Pskov State Committee for Culture and Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library.

The Forum's program will include the following activities:

- Book Fair, where publishers and book selling organizations can present their books;

- Opening of the exhibition "Pskov Book", the presentation of publications;

- Round table "Educational mission of libraries in the Year of Culture";

- Day of collections developer for librarians and publishers' representatives;

- Seminar on "Libraries’ local history activities";

- Cultural Dialogue "Russia - Latvia. Session 2";

- Day of the business activity;

- Creative meetings with famous writers, presentation of publishing projects, workshops, art exhibitions.
