7 April 2014

The exhibition "Chroniclers of military glory" which brought together works of the M. B. Grekov War Artists Studio, Russian Defense Ministry, opened April 3, 2014 in Vologda Regional Art Gallery. The exhibition was created specifically for the Central Exhibition Hall Gallery and will not be displayed anywhere except Vologda.

39 beautiful large-format works reflect the remarkable pages of Russian military history: the War of 1812 and the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Annually, the studio artists create more than 100 works of art on the military-historical theme, which are then delivered to museums and institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Leading area of the studio’s activity is panoramic-diorama art. During the studio existence, its artists have created more than 70 panoramas and dioramas, from the first Soviet panorama "The Battle of Stalingrad" to the cycle of six dioramas in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill.
