Society and Church: "Lent and Holy Easter" Photo Show in Moscow

Dedicated to Lent and Holy Christ’s Resurrection photography show will be running from the April 1 to May 14, 2014, in the building of the Russian Orthodox University (Moscow) within the framework of the "Feast of the Purification" youth festival.

The exhibition gathers the photographs related to diverse events of Lent and Easter and shot by the ordinary believers: the metropolitan churches parishioners, youth associations’ members, and Sunday schools’ students.

A separate part of the exhibition is devoted to the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. These works shot both during and apart from Easter time, capturing a life of spiritual midpoint of Russia, seen through the eyes of its visitors.

The works submission was open to anyone who wanted to join. The collecting, adjustment and arrangement the photos for exhibition were entirely produced by volunteers. About a hundred works have reached the final.

The organizers are also expected to conduct a few thematic and author’s nights during the days of exhibition.
