Internet and society: The Ministry of Economic Development has launched an open data portal

As part of a joint meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Economic Development and the working group of the Government for the coordination of the open government “Council on open data”, was take a decision on the launch of open data portal of the Russian Federation.

The portal is one of the key elements of the system of the open government, promoting the rise of the level of information transparency of state bodies and the local authorities.

The purposes of the creation and the use of the portal are the provision on a single information resource of the most complete information on the existing Russian sets of open data, the creation of a unified communication platform on the formation, publication and the use of open data, the formation and implementation of technological policy in the field of open data.

Currently, the works on filling the resource and the connection to the main sources of the open data are underway. Until April 28, 2014 the Ministry of Economic Development as part of the open discussion collects proposals on the portal development. 

The resource is developed as part of the implementation of the concept of the open data and events, covered by the Charter of the open data.
