Information technology and Russian regions: The service “Mobile guide” is actively developed in the Tula region

The service “Mobile guide” in the Tula region is being implemented as part of the project “Cultural navigator” (tulagid71.ru) and allows using a normal mobile phone as a guide through Tula – one of the oldest cities of Russia. “Mobile guide” – is another step in the formation of the tourist attraction of Tula, the increase of the level of knowledge about historical and cultural role of the city.

Information boards are installed in 85 most important historical sites of the central part of the city, including the main attraction – the Tula Kremlin. In order to listen to the information about historical places or monuments of architecture is enough to call a special number and dial the object code. To read description of the object on the screen of the mobile phone is possible with WR-code, which is also placed on the boards.

Currently, the works on the launch of the project in one of the oldest parts of Tula – the Zarechensky district of the city, are underway.

Since the “Cultural navigator” became available as free app store for iOS and Android. The application includes information about 800 objects, put on the cultural map of the city, and more than 180 thematic routes, composed by Tula specialists, are ready to meet travelers.
