International events: The preparation to cross Years of the Spanish in Russia and the Russian in Spain

May 27, 2014 in Madrid took place a meeting of the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi with the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport Jose Ignacio Werth.

The meeting was devoted to preparations for the activities of the cross Years of the Russian language in Spain and the Spanish language in Russia in 2015. It was the first inter-agency discussion on this issue, designed to intensify activities for complex events, which should be the basis for a broader mutual penetration of the languages and cultures of both countries.

On the Russian side, the work on the events to be held during the cross-years, will be implemented by the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of Culture of Russia, ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO and the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL).

In addition, according to the parties, it is necessary to plan activities, devoted not only to popularize the Russian and Spanish languages, but also aimed at promoting educational programs and intensification of academic mobility.

The parties also noted the importance in 2016 cross Years of tourism between the two countries, which is caused by the increasing interest in the direction of the Spanish and Russian among Russian tourists and is intended to substantially increase interest in visiting our country by tourists from Spain.
