Information technology and museums: The XVIII International conference ADIT “Dialogue of eras in modern museum space. Digital context” in Vyborg

The XVIII International Scientific-Practical Conference ADIT “Dialogue of eras in modern museum space. Digital context. Dedicated to the memory of A. V. Dremailov” is held on May 20, 2014 in Vyborg (the Leningrad region).

The conference is held by the Non-Profit partnership “Automation in Museums and Information technology” (ADIT).

Annual conferences of ADIT, held since 1917, - are one of the key All-Russian events on the promotion of information technology and other institutions of culture, designed to promote the development of museums and exchange of regional experience. Since 1998 ADIT conferences are held in different regions of the country. ADIT conference is held in order to get familiarize with all progresses in the world and our country in the field of museum and library IT, as well as for professional discussion of what is being created and successfully worked.   

The format of “conference” allows attracting new regions to discuss common problems of information and modernization of museums, to introduce leading specialists of Russia with the situation in the region and jointly develop vector as for region and country as a whole.

Professional communication is designed for professionals and those who just begin to deal with the digitization of cultural heritage, compiling State catalogue, creating websites and multimedia-products.

For the first time at the conference is expected to host an event of the new format - Youth Club ADIT - new conference format, representing projects and ideas of young professionals in the museum business. “Museum IT-StartUp” - is an opportunity for young professionals to position their knowledge, creative innovative ideas, analysis, and even utopian projects. The focus of IT- StartUp Museum” - the social aspects of museum work - the mission of the museum as an institution of memory, which is realized with the help of IT.
