Russian culture abroad: A series of exhibitions dedicated to Russia opened in Morocco

A series of exhibitions, dedicated to Russia, opened in Oujda in northeast of Morocco as part of the Days of Culture of Russia.

Numerous residents of the city, including representatives of intellectuals and social activists, students and teachers of local universities, were able to feel the genuine spirit of Russia, to know the diversity and richness of its traditional culture. In order guests to have the fullest possible impression on the Russian coloring, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rabat brought a whole collection of exhibits.

The exposition of Russian national costume is made of kokoshnik and bast sandals, Russian shirts and sarafans, wide trousers and shawls. Among the exhibits are also works by Russian folk crafts – Zhostov trays, matreshka, psaltery and balalaika, products of birch bark, folk toys.

It is also opened a photo exhibition, dedicated to the history of diplomatic relations of Russia and Morocco. The pictures are depicted memorable moments of the meetings of two countries, taking place in different time and in different cities. In addition to plots of the official chronicle, the exposition tells of other sides of the common history, for example, the work of Soviet geologists in Morocco, friendship of public associations.

The Russian literature is presented with fairy-tales, encyclopedias of folklore, historical works on Russian imperial dynasties, as well as collections of recipes of traditional Russian cuisine. In addition, visitors were able to learn about literature, received to the RCSC as part of the federal target program “Russian language”.

The Day of Culture of Russia in Oujda will last until May 8.
