To the 69th anniversary of the Great Victory: The Central Museum of the Russian Air Force to open its doors on Victory Day

Open Day will be held on the Victory Day in the Central Museum of the Air Force in the settlement of Monino.

Everyone can get acquainted with the museum exhibits - airplanes and helicopters. There will be organized tours to the exhibition halls "The origin and development of aviation in Russia until 1941", "Military Aviation in the Great Patriotic War" and "Unique aircrafts". To view will also be open Tu-144, Tu-114, Yak-40, Yak -30 and Mi- 24A.

The Central Museum of the Air Force is operating since 1958 and is one of the largest museums in Europe by number of collected therein military aircraft. This is the only aviation museum in the country, which constitutes the basis of full-scale exposition of airplanes, helicopters, gliders and other aircraft equipment.

At its open area there is 120 aircraft models of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars, the postwar period and modern samples of aircraft MiG-29 and Su-27, combat helicopters Mi-24, modern combat training aircraft Yak-130D and many others. In the halls-hangars is located about 70 unique aircrafts: model of the airplane "Ilya Muromets", legendary aircraft Po-2, P-5, Yak-9, La-7, DB-3, Pe-2, Tu-2.
