
Information Technology and Museums: Multimedia Exhibition in Peter’s the First Cabin of in Kolomenskoye
An innovative unique copy of Dutch Cabin of Tsar Peter the First is resumed its operation in exposition of "Kolomenskoye" State National Park and Museum (Moscow). The specialists of Moscow State Integrated National Park and Museum with the participation of Zaandam Museum created this exposition. Kolomenskaya copy sizes an authentic Zaandam cabin, where Peter I arrived in August 1697 and where he lived for eight days, learning the shipbuilding at the local dockyard.
Among the exhibits are the portraits of Peter the First and his wife - Catherine the First, the graphic works, the icon of Our Savior - a sacred piece that followed Tzar in military campaigns. The drawings and books on shipbuilding, the maps and a layout of the Dutch vessel are gathered on Peter’s desktop, where he had learning the marine science.
The multimedia part of the exhibition tells the story of the Great Embassy - Russian diplomatic mission in Western Europe, undertaken by Peter the First in 1697-98 years. You can trace the route of the embassy along the interactive map, see the countries and the cities that Peter had visited, and understand what knowledge he had acquired in Europe and how he had used that for the future changes of Russia. A special section of the electronic exposition is focused on Peter’s the First stay in Kolomenskoye - a favorite suburban residence of Russian tsars near Moscow. From the screening of a documentary the audience will find out about the history of the emergence of Dutch house on the bank of the river Zhuzha.
