Internet and history: Internet project “George Knights of the Great War” presented
June 19, 2014 the Federal Archival Agency presented a new online project "George Knights of the Great War".
Internet-project "George Knights of the Great War" - a database that includes information on the generals, admirals, officers and soldiers of the Russian armed forces, as well as foreign armies, awarded the Order of St. George, St. George's arms and crosses of St. George in the First World War.
The identification of information was held by federal archives documents: the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RSMHA), the Russian State Historical Archive (RSHA) and the Russian State Archive of the Navy (RGAVMF).
Currently, the database includes information only about 142,519 recipients.
The work on the publication of the full list of Knights of St. George 1914-1918 will be continued, as it is a tribute to the heroes of Russia who were undeservedly forgotten.
