International events: Exhibition to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Liechtenstein in Moscow
The Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of Liechtenstein from 19 to 29 June 2014 present the exhibition "Postage stamps of the Principality of Liechtenstein. History of one project", organized in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Liechtenstein.
In 2012, Liechtenstein celebrates 100 anniversary of the first edition of Liechtenstein postage stamp. Celebrations began on January 31, 2012 with the opening of the exhibition "100 years of postage stamps of Liechtenstein. 1912-2012" in the local Postal Museum. In Russia, the exhibition began its journey with the exhibition "Postage stamps and their prototypes" in the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts in August - October 2013. Next in November - December 2013 it was held in the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum.
The exhibition consists of three blocks. The first, historical bloc, allows us to trace the history of Liechtenstein postage stamps issued in different years (the oldest brand, presented at the exhibition, was released in 1937).
The second block includes a series of 10 stamps of Liechtenstein "Following Alexander Suvorov in Switzerland", released in 2014 Philatelic Service of Liechtenstein to the celebration of the 215th anniversary of the transition of A. V. Suvorov through the Alps. They posted images of 10 paintings by the artist Alex Dolly.
The third block represents stamp that was released in Liechtenstein to the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. It was created based on sketches by Russian artists Alex Dolly and Natalia Brovko, who won the competition to design postage stamps dedicated to the Olympic Games. This edition was printed with a thermo graphic method using paint made with the addition of the smallest crumb of granite massif of Krasnaya Polyana. Thus, each stamp embodies "a piece of Sochi".
