World history: Exhibition “The First World War: books, published during the war” in Irkutsk

In the department of historical and cultural heritage of the I. I. Molchanov-Sibirsky Irkutsk Regional Library opened an exhibition "The First World War: books published during the war". From the series of book exhibitions to the 100th anniversary of the First World War".

Repertoire of books published from 1914 to 1918 is quite broad: documentary sources, revolutionary publications, books about the war, fiction and nonfiction.

The exhibition presents edition of the Irkutsk Committee of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party - "What do the Socialists want?" (Irkutsk, 1917).

The documentary section of the exhibition is opened with "Summary of information obtained in the Irkutsk Military District of the location and the number of Chinese, Japanese and Mongolian troops within Northern Manchuria, Barga and Mongolia" (Irkutsk, 1914). Once classified information will be of interest not only to researchers but also to all lovers of history.

A considerable interest present books-agitation during the First World War - "The Tale of William-Prussians, Franz-Balde and Russian Cossacks" (M., 1915) and "Styopka rastryopka the volunteer" (M, 1915). Today these books are unique rarities.

The exhibition will run until September 1.
