Russian museums: The exhibition “Return to Life” to the 130th anniversary of the Ryazan Museum-Reserve opened
June 11, 2014 in the exhibition hall of the Palace of Oleg of the Ryazan Museum-Reserve took place the solemn opening of the exhibition “Return to Life”. The project summarizes the museum work in the field of the restoration for the past 15 years and is timed to the 130th anniversary of the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve.
“June 15, 1884 at a meeting of the Ryazan Scientific Archive Commission it was decided to set up in our city a historical and archaeological museum. The exhibition, which we open today, - is dedicated to people who have served all these years for the benefit of our museum: we stored and studied museum objects, organized expositions and exhibitions", - said in her speech, Deputy for scientific and educational activities of the Museum Zinaida Grigorievna Artemkina. One of the authors of the exposition - the head of the department of history Mikhail Stanislavovich Urmanov - stressed that such an exhibition that presents restored objects, is first held in the museum-reserve. Preservation of monuments that are part of the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia – is one the most important and difficult tasks of museum work. Each section of the exhibition – is the story of the process of restoration and conservation items from all the major collections of icons, wooden polychrome sculpture, small plastics, furniture, graphics, paintings, rare books, documents, photographs, archeology, collection of weapons and items of military equipment, and the national assembly of city suit, bone products.
