World culture: Exhibition “Flowers and still life paintings by Alexander Benoit di Stetto” in Saint-Petersburg

June 6, 2014 at the State Russian Museum (Saint-Petersburg) opened the exhibition "Flowers and still life paintings by Alexandre Benoit de Stetto".

The name of Alexander Benoit di Stetto (1896-1979), belonging to the renowned art "clan" Benoit Serebryakov-Lancere, has become known to a wide audience just recently. This acquaintance was largely due to the exhibition project "Alexander Benoit di Stetto. Return to Russia", which was launched in the Russian Museum eight years ago. In the context of Russian artistic culture of the XX century it has returned art of bright representative of a wonderful surname Benoit. Opening in 2014 as part of the Seventh International Festival "Imperial Gardens of Russia" and the Year of Culture of Great Britain in Russia and Russia in Great Britain an anniversary, the 50th exhibition of Benoit di Stetto, the State Russian Museum brings significant outcome of this project. It became part of the great Russian-European cultural dialogue and largest educational program, learning about of the master works of more than forty cities and regions of Russia, where works of Benoit di Stetto were shown. This is the longest project in the history of traveling exhibitions of one artist.
