To the Day of Russian language: The All-Russian Pushkin Poetry Festival in Mikhailovskoe

June 6, 2014 marks the Pushkin day of Russia and the Day of Russian Language. They are united with bright and joyous holiday - Birthday of the Great Russian poet. This year is celebrated 215 years.

By long tradition the A. S. Pushkin Museum-Reserve "Mikhailovskoe" will bring together those who were lucky to become participants of the All-Russian (formerly Union) Pushkin Poetry Festival. This year it takes place for the 48th time and for the first time not on the eve, but namely, on June 6. It starts with lithium and laying flowers at the grave of the poet. Then two Pushkin exhibitions will be open. The exhibition from the museum collections will be open in the estate "Petrovskoe". It would be an invitation to the world of Pushkin reflected in painting, drawing, sculpture, book illustration. The second (the Scientific and cultural center) will present a collection of works by famous Russian artists N. V. Kuzmin and T. A. Mavrina belonging to their descendant. The third in a family was Pushkin and treated him like to "not as the Bronze classics, but as a living person". The exhibition presents works of illustrations to Pushkin, Russian folk tales, landscapes, still lifes.

This year the boundaries of the Pushkin festival will be expanded. The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Copenhagen (Denmark) also participates where on June 6 will be held the opening of the museum exhibition. It included etchings, lithographs, photo- and video materials, books, representing the Pushkin area in Pskov.
