Information technology and society: The International IT-Forum with participation of the BRIC countries in Khanty-Mansiysk

The International IT-Forum with participation of the BRIC countries is held on June 4-5, 2014 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The purpose of the IT-Forum – is the creation of conditions and the development of the best practices of the use of information-communication technology.

The program includes:

- Strategic Congress “Information technology as an innovation basis of the strategic development of the social field of regions of the BRIC countries”;

- Specialized exhibition “Industry of Information Technology for State Administration”.

As part of the Congress will be held the following sessions:

- Session 1. Electronic State. E-democracy. Open Government. Open data.

- Session 2. The use of information technology in health care.

- Session 3. The use of information technology in culture.

- Session 4. The training of specialists in the field of IT. Network University of the BRIC countries.

- Session 5. Innovation and investment technology in the development of the IT-business.

- Session 6. Scientific and research activity in IT.

The Forum is held since 2008. The latter, the V International IT-Forum, was attended by more than 1500 people from 30 countries of Russia and 4 foreign countries.

In 2014 the format of the Forum was expanded by attracting regions of the BRIC countries, which are more efficient and successfully resolve issues of the Information Society: the south-eastern states of Brazil, the coastal provinces of China, Indian states such as Bengal and Western Cape of South Africa. These regions have considerable experience in the provision of services to citizens in electronic form, information and health education. Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug also has something to share in these areas, and in the fight against the digital divide, which is a serious problem in the BRIC countries.

The organizers consider that according to results of the IT-Forum will be established contacts of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug with the most progressive regions of the BRIC countries, will be completed an agreement of cooperation. At the IT-Forum will be also discussed the issues of the creation of the Council of regions of the BRIC countries.
