
Information technology and society: Children’s “Mobile Library” opened in Zlatoust
Zlatoust City District Administration has launched a project for children “Mobile Library”. Schoolchildren of Zlatoust will be able to free download electronic books with the help of special QR-codes and free Wi-Fi.
To the Children’s Day in the amusement park “Krylatko” appeared virtual bookshelves, which place more than a hundred electronic works of Russian and foreign literature for summer reading in accordance of the school program for pupils of middle and high school. To download a virtual book with one touch from the “Mobile Library” is possible for the holder of a mobile device that supports mobile Internet. It is enough to point the camera of the smart phone or tablet to an individual QR-code and download the file electronically.
“Innovative technology is now developing rapidly and deeply into our everyday life, including the cultural sphere. Modern services help citizens make life more comfortable, so we are constantly working on the introduction of new technology products to the urban environment. Introducing free Wi-Fi zone and custom designs using IT solutions, we erase the boundaries of the digital divide and give residents more opportunities for information, communication and entertainment. I am sure that “Mobile Library”, and free Wi-Fi zone in the park Krylatko will appeal to residents of Zlatoust and will be widely in demand among both children and adults", - said the head of Zlatoust Vyacheslav Zhilin.
