Memory of Russia: The exhibition dedicated to the Great Russian commander Alexander Suvorov opened in Switzerland

3 June 2014

The National Museum of St. Gotthard (Switzerland) hosts the exhibition of the Russian artist Alex Doll. The place for the exposition is not chosen by chance: a famous pass St. Gotthard played a key role in the alpine hike of the commander Alexander Suvorov in 1799. The event is timed to the 215th anniversary of the Swiss campaign of the Russian Army under the command of Suvorov, the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russian and Switzerland and is held as part of the “cross” Seasons of Culture.

The exposition “In the footsteps of A. V. Suvorov” features modern views of those places where the army of Generalissimo held, - buildings and constructions, in which general headquarters located; monasteries, in which soldiers stopped, and, of course, a famous Devil’s Bridge.
