Internet and security: Research on the protection of the Russian segment of Internet held

On behalf of President of the Russian Federation the Ministry of Communications and Mass media of Russia conducted research to develop measures to prevent violations of the Internet in Russia as a result of targeted actions. The exercise was attended by leaders and experts of responsible departments of the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service, the Federal Security Service, the Interior Ministry, specialists of JSC "Rostelecom", the Coordination Center for the national domain, the Technical Center "Internet". The researches were held under the supervision of the Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia Nikolai Nikiforov.

During the research was conducted an overall assessment of the security and stability of the national segment of the degree of criticality of its connectivity with the global infrastructure, estimated potential vulnerabilities, establishing the willingness to work together industry organizations, service providers and situational centers of the federal bodies of executive power in the case of negative targeted interaction.

According to the results of the research will be developed comprehensive measures of legal, organizational and technical measures aimed at improving the protection of the Russian segment of the Network and increase the sustainability of its operations. There is also a specific list of measures designed to contain and reduce all types of threats.
