History of Russia: Exhibition “The first tanks of Russia” in the Moscow region

Marking the centenary of the First World War, the museum-memorial complex "History of the T-34" (the Moscow region) has prepared an exhibition "The first tanks of Russia".

Visitors of the museum can see a very simple device which has given a tremendous impetus for the creation during the First World War of fundamentally new combat vehicles – tanks.

Among the projects are:

- The very first tank in the world "Vezdehod" A. A. Porohovschikov, his field and land battleships;

- Offer of the titular counselor E. E. (the surname is unknown) about the use of steam engines for the destruction of enemy forces;

- "General Schwartz Spiral machine" for the construction of underground galleries, allowing penetrate enemy strongholds;

- Mobile armored battery "Improved turtle" of S. P. Navrotsky;

- Wheeled tank of N. N. Lebedenko;

- Armored vehicle "Oboy" J. F. Semchisheny;

- Overland battleship of I. K. Pakkula;

- Super-heavy tank of V. D. Mendeleev.

The exposition features documents, drawings, photographs, books, objects of army equipment.

The exhibition will run until the end of November, 2014.
