Russian culture abroad: The educational library created in the Orthodox Church in Cambodia

The education library at the temple of Panteleimon is being created in Cambodian town Sihanoukville. The Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Phnom Penh gave books to the library of the classics of Russian literature, children's books, encyclopedias and books on culture, history, Russia, says the website of Rossotrudnichestvo.

One of the main goals of the library is the spiritual and moral education of children through their initiation to the values of the Orthodox culture, preservation of Orthodox traditions, culture and the Russian language.

Chairman of the parish council of St. Panteleimon parish M. Ryumshin noted that the library would be a center of communication and strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties with their homeland for the compatriots living in Sihanoukville.

Currently the district to Sihanoukville is ready to begin construction of an Orthodox church. It was laid by Egoryevsky Archbishop Mark in February 2013. Then it is planned to build St. George's Church in Phnom Penh and in honor of Our Lady of Kazan in Siem Reap.
