World culture: The exhibition “Willem II and Anna Pavlovna. The royal passion for art” in Luxembourg

In July 2014 took place the opening of the exhibition "Willem II and Anna Pavlovna. Royal passion for art" in the City Art Museum of Luxembourg.

The exhibition is a joint project of the Municipal Museum of Dordrecht (the Netherlands), the City Art Museum of Luxembourg - Villa Vauban (the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) and the State Hermitage Museum.

The exposition is dedicated to the history of the family of Willem II and Anna Pavlovna, the history of their collection of paintings, drawings and sculptures. The exhibition features many memorial items surrounding the royal couple and creating a sense of their life and their interests.

A year ago, the exhibition was opened in the halls of the State Hermitage Museum, and then in the Netherlands, Dordrecht, and finally opened its doors to the public in Luxembourg.

The exhibition will run until the beginning of October 2014, after which the exhibits from the Hermitage collection will return to St. Petersburg.
