At the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum, which has become one of the hundred of winners of the contest of the President of the Russian Federation, aiming at the support of art projects of national significance in the field of culture and art, is completed the work over the project “The Museum in the Magic Book”.

There were made so-called photographs of texture and style, that is, the surface of products to play their detailed three-dimensional virtual copy. For the photographing there were selected subjects that were usually impossible to remove from the museum to showcase even where all the conditions of security, since they themselves are too brittle and just "will not survive" transportation. For example, the original subjects of the XVII century, as well as the products of 1926-1945, made by the Konigsberg State Amber manufactory.
"The Magic Book" includes pictures of items of the XVII-XXI centuries and special codes for their three-dimensional display. In the final of the project, there will be prepared a virtual, interactive exhibition that allows anyone to see in detail the three-dimensional model exhibits of the museum collection, which are usually located behind the glass display cases or are stored in the storerooms.
The virtual collection of the museum will be featured by the museum at various Russian and foreign exhibitions, symposiums and conferences.
