Peoples of Russia: The exhibition “Forgotten pages of history. On the life of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin in the XX century”
In 2014 started the International exhibition project “Forgotten pages of history. On the life of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin in the XX century”, which was the result of many years of cooperation between the Sakhalin Regional Museum and the Hokkaido Museum of the Peoples of the North (Japan).
From May to June, 2014 in Japan in the Hokkaido Museum of the Peoples of the North (Abashiri) and the Hokkaido University (Sapporo) is open the exhibition “Forgotten pages of history. On the life of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin in the XX century”. The exhibition features photographs of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin from the collections of the Sakhalin Regional Museum.
From July 5, 2014 in the Sakhalin regional museum is open the exhibition “Forgotten pages of history. On the life of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin in the XX century”, which features photographs form the collections of the Hokkaido Museum of the Peoples of the North. The photographs depict the main economic trades of indigenous peoples of Sakhalin in the XX century: deer-raising, fishing, seal-hunting, collecting as well as traditional festivals and musical national instruments.
In addition, the exhibition features items of ethnography from the collections of the Sakhalin Regional Museum.
