11 July 2014

The monument to Russian soldiers of four wars will be erected in the city of Gvardeysk of the Kaliningrad region. The monument will be designed as a four-sided granite stele height of 4.5 meters. On each side of the facade, close to the dates of wars will be placed stylized images of medals, which were awarded Russian soldiers for courage and bravery in battle with the enemy. The dominant feature of the monument will be the same order of "Victory" - the highest military order and one of the main symbols of the Great Patriotic War. Eternal Flame, embossed in stone on each face of the stele, - is a symbol of remembrance of the fallen heroes.

This will be the first monument in Russia, which at the same time will be devoted to Russian soldiers in four wars: the Seven Years War, the Napoleonic War 1806-07, the First World War and the Great Patriotic War. All of them touched the territory of the modern Guard District. The monument is intended to emphasize the historical continuity between different eras in military history of Russia.

The monument will be erected before the end of 2014.
