Museums: The exhibition “The last war of the Russian Empire” opened

On July 6, the Tula Regional Local History Museum hosted the exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War “The last war of the Russian Empire”.

The First World War – is the large-scale conflict in the history of a mankind, which for most Russians is little-known.

As part of the exhibition, visitors will be able to see photographs and documents from the collections of the Tula Regional Local History Museum, the State Archive of the Tula region, personal archives of Tula residents – descendants of soldiers of the First World War, as well as  authentic items of weapons, uniforms and equipments of soldiers, officers of the Russian army of the early XX century, weapons and military awards, provided by the military historical club “72d Tula Infantry Regiment” and the Tula City Youth Club of the Historical Reconstruction and Fencing.

In parallel the museum hosts the exhibition of the children’s drawing “The Great Forgotten War”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War. The exhibition features works of winners of creative works by students in the field of fine arts.

The exhibition will run until September 30.
