The "Mound of Friendship" - an annual meeting of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the guerilla movement of three countries: Russia, Belarus and Latvia. Eponymous memorial complex was opened on the border of three countries in 1959 in memory of the battle cooperation of guerrillas of Belarus, Latvia and Russia. The land for the Mound is taken from the graves of guerrillas and soldiers of the Red Army. There is an oak on the top of the complex, symbolizing good-neighborly relations of the three nations. Until 1991 the holidays in turn were carried out by Russia, Belarus and Latvia. Now the meeting at the Mound of Friendship is carried out by Russia and Belarus.
