International conferences: The conference “Russian pages of the Great War in Tirol” took place in Bolzano

July 5 in the University of Bolzano took place the regional conference “Russian pages of the Great Patriotic War”, dedicated to the social and humanitarian dimension of the First World War, in particular, fates of Russian prisoners in South Tirol and Tirol prisoners in Russia.

Their reports of five districts of the Tirol front were delivered researchers, historians, representatives of historical clubs of South Tirol and Trentino-Alto Adige, including: director of the Museum of the First World War in Peyo Maurizio Vicenza as well as Oswald Mederle, Elfriede  Perathofer, Rupert Gitl, Georg Tengler, Giovanni Terranova.

The results were summed up by the head of the Youth Forum “We remember everyone – the Tyrol memory”, representative of the Russian Military-Historical society Denis Sadovnikov. Russian experts made an analysis of available information about the Tyrol front in Russian sources as well as the report on the theme of the fate of Austro-Hungarian and German prisoners of the First World War in Siberia.
