Exhibitions: The travelling exhibition “History of Taiga – return to basics” opened
As part of the Year of Culture and Tourism and on the eve of the Day of the City and the Railway Man Day which will be celebrated in the beginning of August and on July 1, 2014 at the Palace of Culture of Taiga of the urban district of the Kemerovo region opened the traveling exhibition "History of Taiga - return to basics".
This is an exhibition project, created by museums located in the city, the city Historical museum, the museum of locomotive depot of Taiga, museums of educational institutions, with the participation of private collectors, carefully storing evidence of bygone times.
The exhibition features original exhibits, documents, archival photographs, revealing the most interesting pages from more than a century-old history. These are materials of the construction of the junction station of Taiga, people, who contributed to its foundation and development, as well as the development of non-district city of 20s, the years of first five years and the Great Patriotic War, the famous Taiga flying club, which trained six pilots, heroes of the Soviet Union and the contribution of railway men to the Great Victory.
The centerpiece of the exhibition takes an exposition dedicated to the events of "Ice campaign" of that severe time when in December 1919 through Taiga were retreating troops of Supreme Governor of Siberia - Admiral A. Kolchak. Today, the interest in his controversial, but certainly gifted person in our society increases, in the city, where he left his "golden" trail.
Further it is planned to make an exhibition "History of Taiga - back to basics" as a permanent exposition at the museum.
