
Territory of Russia: The large-scale festival of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow
Large-scale Festival of the Russian Geographical Society will be held from October 31 to November 5, 2014 in the Central House of Artists in Moscow.
Here, with the help of multimedia technology will be presented the brightest projects of the Russian Geographical Society.
Thus, the CHA will house the exposition dedicated to archaeological and geographical expedition "Kyzyl - Kuragino". The aim of this project is to preserve the Company's objects of cultural and historical heritage in the construction area of 400 km railway line that will connect the Republic of Tuva with the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The festival program is diverse and includes photo and film screenings, exhibitions, days of the peoples of Russia and ethnographic activities. Visitors of the event will have a unique opportunity to take a virtual journey through the regions of the country, to participate in a variety of quizzes and competitions and learn about the work of the Russian Geographical Society's offices in each of the Russian regions. At the festival is supposed to organize several thematic zones: expeditions and research, protection of nature, animals, and the area devoted to the Arctic and projects for its cleaning.
In addition, the guests of the Russian Geographical Society will meet with representatives of the scientific communities and travelers, as well as master-classed of famous photographers and TV presenters.
The festival will be ended with the awarding Prize of the Russian Geographical Society. It will honor the best research, expedition, research, media and youth projects in the study of the geography of our country.
