Electronic libraries: The first Military Electronic Library to be created in Russia

The Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu during his working visit to the troops of the Western Military District visited in Saint-Petersburg the Museum of History of the Western Military District and the Central Naval Museum. 

The Minister of Defense supported the idea of workers of the Military Historical Library of the General Headquarters of the Russian Armed Forces, working at the headquarters of the Western Military District, on the creation of the First Military Electronic Library. 

Speaking about the need to create the first electronic library, the Minister of Defense said: "We do not set the task to compete with other libraries. Our goal is to bring these unique publications on Russian military history to every citizen of our country from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka".

After inspecting the collections of the Central Naval Museum Sergei Shoigu said that the museum - "is really is a national treasure". He set the task to make the museum more accessible to both Russians and foreigners. To do this, the Minister of Defense offered the museum specialists to organize regular traveling expositions in other cities, and not excluding travel and abroad.

Another order was associated with the establishment of the production of quality films about the museum.

"We must also make high-quality copies of historical ships. Moreover, it is necessary in parallel with the creation of new ships and submarines for the Russian Navy to prepare their copies for the museum. This is our history, and it is continued. And we have to witness the process", - said the head of the military department.
