Russian museums: The Museum of History of Urban Life in Chelyabinsk

The Museum the History of Urban Life will be created in Chelyabinsk. It will be located in a former geological museum and become part of the Local History Museum.

Chelyabinsk residents can share pictures of things related to life of the XXVIII-XIX centuries, which are of historical value and will decorate the exposition.

It is expected that the first part of the museum will be open in September for the City Day. It will fully start working in 2015.

The 2-story building, known as the home of the Intercession, has a rich history. According to historical records, the house was previously part of a wealthy merchant of the estate of the second half of the XIX century. In the early XX century, the building housed the club of Chelyabinsk intelligentsia. In Soviet times, there was a communication control service. It is worth noting that the stone houses of earlier construction in Chelyabinsk are not existed more.
