History and culture: The exhibition, dedicated to the holidays of the Soviet era, in Moscow

The Museum and exhibition center ROSIZO (Moscow) hosts the exhibition “Red letter day: holidays of the Soviet Union”.

Paintings and drawings from the collection of ROSIZO and the Institute of Russian realistic art, posters, banners and photographs from the collection of the State Archive of Film and Photo Documents will tell how and why Soviet holidays emerged and disappeared, how they were celebrated and who artists has the most reliable evidence of the era.

The exhibition “Red letter day” offers contemporary viewer to see how diverse the holidays in Soviet Union were, how they formed, how changed the attitude towards them – from a sincere admiration of colorful action to formal state order.
