On September 1, 2014, Moscow surface public transit will be set with Quick Response Codes that could get scanned by the passengers for downloading or online reading books. The project called the "Commute Reading."
QR-codes will appear in nearly 700 buses, trolleybuses and trams in five areas of the city, including the central district. Through them the commuters will get a chance to read the texts of Victor Pelevin, Vladimir Sorokin, Lyudmila Ulitskaia, Sergei Lukyanenko along with the Russian and foreign classics.
Scanning will also allow buying a preferred product online or finding it at the nearest library.
