Information technology and museums: The Belgorod Museum-diorama presents mobile application “Museum Guide”

The Belgorod Museum-diorama "The Battle of Kursk. Belgorod direction" during the celebration of the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Belgorod from Nazi invaders presents visitors an updated exposition and mobile application "Museum Guide".

The Museum-diorama was the first in the Belgorod region launching the beta version of the mobile application "Guide through the museum-diorama" for iOS and Android. The application contains the text and graphics of a tour. Visitors will also be able to use the mobile audio guide, which also can be downloaded and installed on the mobile device.

In addition, this year the museum collection has been enriched with several unique exhibits. Among them are the Soviet aircraft engine parts during the Great Patirotic War M-105 and armor (armor plates) of the assault gun Stug III Ausf G (Germany, 1943). Visitors can also see a collection of machine guns of the Second World War, German pistols Mauser, Sauer, and the collection of agitation porcelain of the Navy of the USSR with the emblems RKVMF.

The museum collection has also been enriched with materials from the personal archive of Lieutenant-General Y. V. Konovalenko, head of the Semipalatinsk nuclear testing area of 1991-1994.

The exposition was also added with a new information terminal, which offers the visitor interesting facts during the Second World War and the filing of the regional newspaper "Belgorod truth" during the Great Patriotic War.
