Internet and history: Visitors of the portal “Calendar of Victory” have opportunity to participate in the project

The updated version of the portal “Calendar of Victory” is launched. Now users have unique opportunity to participate in the project.  

The project “Calendar of Victory” was created in order to preserve the memory of key events in the history of Russia and the world - the Great Patriotic War. Its task was not a repetition of well-known facts and the merits of the major battles of the commanders, but it was the publication of unique, previously unknown documents, covering unknown details of historical events.

The project was of great interest not only to a limited group of users who are fond of history and historical geography, regional studies, documentation and folklore, but also a wide audience of people who are not indifferent to their country. Now visitors of the website have opportunity to be more than just readers, but also to participate in the project, to complement the chronicle of the great Patriotic War with new pages. After registration, each user can upload his story about war, based on the memories of taking part in the battles of relatives, as well as add photo illustrations from their personal archives, or any other documents. This functionality of the portal will not only enter the new names in the history of the liberation of our country, but also see all the well-known events from different points of view, to complete the picture of military action with details that had previously remained in the shadows.  

In addition, on the portal there is an opportunity of life communication – the section of forums where visitors can discuss the published information, to find answers to their questions, is opened.

For registered users was added such function as voting for the most interesting issue of the herald “Calendar of Victory”. Now the issues can be sorted by rating in order to see the most informative and the brightest of them.

In general, the portal has become more dynamic, open for communication of users, ergonomic. The open space for communication will contribute to further development and improvement of its functionality.
