Caspian Summit of Caspian Sea countries: “The Caspian Sea – the space of friendship and cooperation” in Astrakhan

September 26, 2014 in the Astrakhan branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of Russia took place a round table dedicated to the beginning of the IV Summit of Heads of Caspian littoral states.

The burning issue of the round table –“The Caspian Sea – the space of friendship and cooperation” allowed discussing a number of issues that are relevant for the development of intercultural dialogue of the Caspian Sea nations and states, the preservation of historical and cultural heritage of peoples of the Caspian region, the participation of Astrakhan community and its ethno-cultural associations in the implementation of public diplomacy at solving the problems of the region.  

Among the activities planned for carrying out the IV Summit of the Caspian Sea region, is also held the exhibition of the three regions of Russia, which have access to the Caspian Sea: the Astrakhan region, Dagestan and Kalmykia. It is located on the territory of the Astrakhan Kremlin.

Also in Astrakhan in summer 2014 took place the open air with the participation of graduates and students of the leading art schools of Russia – nine young Russian artists visited sights of the Lower Volga, Bogdinsko-Baskunchaisky Reserve.

During the trip they prepared about 30 sketches for the exhibition “Young Russia. Astrakhan” which is confined to the summit of the Caspian Sea states.
