Memory of the World: Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War historical and patriotic event in the libraries of the Volgograd region

Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War a historical and patriotic action titled "The First World War" had been launched in the Volgograd Region.

From the 17th to 27th of September more than 100 libraries of the Volgograd Region remain open to all who are interested in "the great and the forgotten war" subject. These days the libraries of the Volgograd Region are busy with discussions, excursions into history, patriotic hours, spoken magazines, lessons of fortitude, book exhibitions and much more. The multimedia presentations and videos will be presented to the partakers of the event.

Within a framework of this event, "The First World War: Events and people" exhibition, offering the documents and photos, was opened in Volgograd Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Gorky.

Guests will get acquainted with the documents belonging to the expositions of Volgograd Region State Archives, Memorial and Historical Museum ("The Battle of Stalingrad" Historical and Memorial National Park and Museum), the funds of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library and Volgograd Oblast Universal Scientific Library named after Gorky.

The events are being held in the regional and village libraries of Dubovsky Gorodishchensky, Michailovsky, Kamyshinsky, Kumylzhensky, Leninsky, Nicholaevsky, Svetloyarsky and Serafimovichesky districts of the Volgograd Region.
